Mon - Met with KK after school re Maths interventions.

Tue - led dress rehearsal for Year 3/4


Wed - Time out of class for Maths assessments, inset agenda and test base work.
PM - took four children to maths challenge at ABI, where we WON!


Thur - led dress rehearsal


Friday - completed Maths assessments.

Week Beginning 1st December

Monday - gave out maths resources and wrote Maths memo.


Tuesday - met with Year 5 about new maths resources. Ordered new set of textbooks.


Wednesday - sent out letters for maths challenge and maths booster. Spoke with the parents of the booster children.


Thursday and Friday - Maths assessment and moderation.

Week Beginning 24th November

Again this week as had a strong maths focus.


Monday - LK unwell and so amalgamated groups. Sorted out the return of maths resources and gave evaluation forms to Kevin.


Tue - used PPA to track the progress that Year 6 need to make and where they are now.


Wed - day out with  KK on BCPP about new curriculum and maths. Used time to discuss progress with year six, interventions etc...


Thur - Maths CENTs meeting with St. Bernadette's. Back to school to book school trip and complete data for RG. Afternoon out of class to consolidate maths from this week and disseminate relevant documents.

Week Beginning 17th November

Big maths focus this week. Also performance management cycle with RE lesson obs in Year 6.


Mon - PA started as extra maths support for ER.
Lesson observations.


Tue - CM in to work with Year 4 on calculation policy and also how we plan across three groups.
Met with CM after school to go through training for Thur and Fri.
Met with KK re PM feedback and also maths feedback.


Wed - used time to collect all the maths resources across Year groups for the training on Thur and Fri. GW worked with me for reprographics.
Unpacked new maths resources.


Thur - KS1 teaching assistant training on number. After school INSET on problem solving for all staff.


Fri - KS2 teaching assistant training on number. We also have external TAs attending on both days.

Worked one to one with a child in the morning conducting a L2 audit.
Taught my L6 group for a catch up session.


pm - met with KK to discuss maths issues, next steps and book scrutiny.

Mon - INSET Day . Worked with Lesley Brine looking at old Maths audit continuum.


Tue / Wed - gave out new resources to year groups.


Thur - SLT out, acting Dep Head all day.


Fri - supported Year 5 with calculation issues for short division.

Half Term

Wrote up notes from CM from this term.


Proofed action plan for KK and for Govn.


Looked at 'close the gap' calculation sheets to bring in next half term.


Updated the Year 6 planning for Block C and D.


Looked at new assessment resources to potentially fit in with new tracker.

Week Beg 20th October

Monday - put order into KK for new resources ( place value and hundred square)


Wednesday - Maths release time started at 1:50pm. Met with CC as link Governor  to discuss action plan, where we are now, data and 'what went well.'


Thursday - made times table resource for MPU.


Friday - put in next SATs paper for next half term.

Week Beg 13/10/14

Mon - worked with CM on new calculations policy - with a focus on Year 5 and Year 6.Given to KK.


Tue - Met with RS before school about the 4 children she is supporting in mass. Talked to MA about order.


Wed - worked with CM, ALL Year 3 staff, RS with three pairs of children (BA, A and AA) on pupil questionnaires. Explored HOW children calculated answers and understood place value. This helps us understand gaps.


Thur - spoke to KK about action plans and data for link Gov meeting next week.


Fri - worked with RS about assessing level one and the new results which have come in.

Week beginning 6/10/14

Tuesday- responded to maths email from P Hunt.

Wednesday - no maths release time due to illness.

Thursday - Parents eve. Advice given re maths and interventions.

Friday - met with Kk about action plan. Emailed him. Will arrange next meeting to set next steps.

Weekend - ordered various resources. Researched polaido.

Reviewed action plan from last year and redrafted plan for this year.

Prepared some of the resources for copying for training.

Summer Holidays

Looked at data for KS1 and KS2 to determine next steps.


Filed and worked through the anomalous continuity tests for those children who sat tests which were not their year groups.


Re-planned Unit A using new planning with modelling, objectives, success ladders, cycle of learning.


Documented ' what went well' and 'next steps' for next academic year.


Copy and work through  the new curriculum for each year group - key objectives.


Planned INSPIRE, key details.


Sorted maths groupings and proposed interventions, including level 6 and SEN.

Week beginning 7/7/14

Prepared homework over the weekend and gave to KK.


Analysed the continuity tests for Yr 2,3,and 6. MPu did Year 4 and Year 5.


All these were printed and passed to KK.


Met with KK on Thurs eve to look at medium term planning, next steps in assessment, end of year requests and homework. We also discussed KS1 and KS2 data.


In Sep I am to share with him HOW I want to change short term planning and to what end.

Week beg 29th June 2014

Monday - maths memo given out about continuity tests. Dates for training with CM in aut 1 and 2 firmed up and sent to KK.


Used some of Wed/ Thur transition days to plan homework to send home to Yr 2 - 5 over the summer holiday.


Thur - gave end of term requests to KK and copy of medium term plans.

Week Beg 24th June

Mon - Gave out Continuity tests to each class with memo. Collected requests for other tests required.


Tailored a week of planning to boost Year 6 and maths calculations.


Tue - Fri - worked on homework to send home after continuity tests.


Thurs - CENTs meeting at English Martyrs. Worked on assessment, medium term plans and how the new curriculum will be shaped. Have written up outcomes for KK. Working on our school medium term plans. Out of class pm to do this.


Fri - maths SATs papers returned to school. Year 6 and SLT team looked through them to analyse.

Week beg 16/6/14

Mon - Day out of class for Maths.
Created continuity test assessment grids and put all the tests in for copying.
Copied and typed up ideas for Maths New Curriculum, assessment etc to present to KK and SLT.
4:00pm - Meeting with KK to share ideas


Tue - PPA
SLT meeting where I shared next steps and new ideas for Curriculum and assessment in September.

Looked at maths attainment and progress with Year 6 staff.


Weekend - Began to source maths resources to send home as summer dip homework.

Week Beg 9/6/14

This week was a extra-curricular week.


On Monday and Tuesday, the children made their Confirmation with Bishop Pargeter.


On Wednesday AC had  full day with CM.
Our focus was problem solving, how to adopt new assessment and medium term planning.
AC now needs to spend some time working on this to show KK and the school.


Thursday - School photos and school trip to the Symphony Hall to watch the CBSO.


Friday  - Parish Day of prayer and external Year 6 writing moderation with PB


Sunday - Parish mass led by Year 6. Confirmation certificates received.

Mon - Day out of class conducting a planning scrutiny. Used this to find whole school issues to act upon. These have now been given to KK and SLT to share.


Tue - Acting HT


Wed - organised transition meetings for the week.


Thur / Fri - Prepared for Confirmation including Confirmation meeting 7pm on Thursday.


Weekend - looked over agenda for CM with focus on medium term plan

Tue - met with KK re Maths for the next half term. Agreed list of plan of action. Set agenda with CM, agreed on days for maths planning moderation, feed back about written work, continuity tests, holiday homework, medium term planning and maths mark scheme.


Thur - emailed CM with agenda and questions about training.


Fri - went through a selection of summer 1 planning ready to moderate after H.T.

SATs week


Oversaw the intervention / revision programme for this week.


Worked with the L6 children on the Thursday for Level 6 Maths SATs.


Met with KK on Friday 16th re: middle leader discussion.

Week Beginning 28th April and 5th May

For this two week period, I have been asked to concentrate on Year 6 SATs.
I have worked with maths groups, intervention groups, extra L6 sessions and organised a two week SATs maths boost for each maths group.

Easter Holidays

 - Reviewed this term's invoices and a double check of what has been delivered.


- Planned Year 6 SATs revision and Level 6.


- Planned the Year 6 SATs timetable.


- Reviewed all Year 6 data and progress made / progress which still needs to be made.


- Amended maths marking policy based around feedback from KK

KK has annotated this and we will have a meeting first week back.

Used time after school to get handouts copied for maths marking policy introduction on Wednesday. PowerPoint completed.

Week Beginning 10th March

Monday - Time was used to purchase the Year 6 St. Chad's tickets.
Level 6 children selected. Level 6 Maths booster planned.
Spoke with KMC about gap tasks in maths.


Tuesday Worked with KW after school about progression and next steps in Yr 3 addition and subtraction according to the new curriculum. Started Yr 6 portfolios for writing.


Wednesday Set new maths SATs papers for Yr 6. Listed trouble shooting issues for Yr 6 to plan around.


Thursday - Met will KK afterschool. Discussed Perf Man lessons and next steps in Maths.
Will lead inset on new maths policy in week 4 and week 6.


Friday - photocopied examples of feedback and gap tasks to collate over the weekend. Will also create power point / hand-out for next week.

Monday 3rd - Used time to varify St. Chad's visit and also to work with L6 children on misconceptions.
Spoke to parents about two new children doing maths booster clubs.




Tue / Wed - planned L6 work and assessed children on 2012 SATs.




Thur - Acting HT due to SLT being out of school.

Monday - Used maths time to plan an overview for the half term ahead and also copy SATs papers. Reviewed Level 6 needs and emailed new marking policy to KK.
Had pre-PGCE student in class with me for the day.


Tuesday - Planned across Year 6 for Maths Perf Man this week. Met with TP after school to discuss success ladders.


Wed - Maths lesson observations.


Thur - Met with DM to discuss learning ladders in school. Sorted out new maths resources for Reception. Had feedback with RG on lesson.
Dismissed basketball.


Fri - Met with KK about maths observations across school.

10/2 - Used maths time to put in a new maths order for Reception and missing items across school. Put all tracking on system and finished marking LK' writing assessments.
Emailed new calculation policy to KK.


11/2 - worked with AKM on transformation.


12/2 - met with KKi and LT about use of vocabulary for addition in Year R.


13/2 - used afternoon out of class to work on new marking policy.


14/2 - covered LK's round table.


Half Term Week:


Wrote a draft of new maths marking policy.


APP ed the key children in Year 6.


Planned next half term of Level 6 and misconception areas of Year 6 maths.

Week beginning 3/2/14

Mon - Met with KK about budget needs for Year 2014-15, Maths IEPs and number shark.


Mon - met with RG about Yr six maths interventions and timetable.


Mon - Fri Year 6 half way point assessment week.


Thur - spent day with CM. Reviewed calculations policy to be in line with new curriculum. Also discussed marking policy for AC to write.
           Rec - gave me new order which has been put into KK.


Fri - completed additional maths order, dealt with order issues with Bursar, started writing maths marking policy.

Week Beginning 27/1/14

Monday afternoon - Checked off the maths order and gave them out.
Confirmed football club and spoke to the four parents of children doing afternoon tuition.
Worked with MPU and LK to work out new maths interventions for children in lower and target maths groups. Met with BH about the needs of her SEN children.


Spoke with KK about buying in a license for numbershark ICT.(He has ordered this)  Booked and filled in the forms for Symphony Hall trip and Harvington Hall.


Tue ( resources) Year 1 need a teacher number line and Year 3 need counters ( both put on new resources list.)


2 parents eve on Wed and Thur night for Year 6.


Friday - attended the leaving mass for Fr Dan with our Year 6 readers.

Week beg 20th Jan 2014

Used the new Collins Primary Focus Maths in my maths group this week for percentage, ratio and proportion.


Determined assessments dates for Yr6 for feb half term.


Used Maths time to prep work to cover LK's groups ( off ill)


Met with SC and LK to chose children to attend Maths booster group after school.


Met with RG re: needs of Year and new interventions to be put into place next week.


Booked Harvington Hall trip for Confirmation


Chased maths resources arrived at school. To sort out next week.

Week Beginning 13/1/14

13/1/14 - Maths time on Monday used to evaluate the Collins 'Ants' scheme that was sent to school and the new Collins Level 5 - 6 work for top Yr 6 Maths.


Also completed Yr 6 record books to track their maths and reading levels / set targets.


14/1/14 - worked with Yr 6 team on new planning preform and next steps for FDP.


15/1/14 talked with Ann (bursar) about missing ESPO resources.


16/1/14 - SATs workshop for yr 6. I led 3 sessions on the Maths SATs for each group of parents.


Also afterschool subject leaders meeting with KK.

Came into school 3/1/14 to set up hall for INSET.


6/1/14 - Maths INSET day led by CM


Morning session - multiplication and division - practical ideas and building up to written methods.


Afternoon session - planning, steps to success, planning proforma, pitch, cycle of teaching.


7/1/14 - Staff meeting time used to consolidate using maths resources introduced at the INSET day. met with Yr 3 staff about how to plan using proforma.


8/1/14 - met with KK to discuss Yr 6 predictions for SATs. Met with KK to discuss progress last term and next steps with CM


KK has said that this term is to be one of consolidation for maths. The priority is Yr 6 and their progress. CM will come in on 6/2/14 and not again until the summer term where the priority will be a scheme of work for the NC.


10/1/14 - new evaluation pack of maths has arrived to trial (ant.) New Level 5 - 6 compendium has arrived to integrate into AC's maths group.
