Week Beg 25/11/13

Completed trialling new planning for a unit in Year 6. We will try using it for the next three weeks then feedback to SLT.

Completed and sent off second maths order for class resources / whole school shape resources.

Wrote a memo about assessment following APP ( can do tests to support.)

27/11/13 - Acting Head teacher for the day.

Read through NC in preparation for CENTS meeting.

28/11/13 - Attended CENTS meeting about New Curriculum, challenges and how we are to assess. Met with Collins rep to see new resources.

Wrote a draft medium term plan for maths in school.

Week Beginning 18/11/13

No maths time this week. (LK out)

Took four Year 6 children after school on Wednesday to ABI for maths challenge against 8 schools. Holy Souls were the winners!

Spent time before school giving out the remainder of the maths resources and clarifying new orders for resources.

Met with RG for performance management feedback.

Met with RG to discuss peer observation for some staff member to support their PM.

A pre-PGCE student shadowed me on Thursday to see learning in Yr 6.

Gave advice to KMc and KW about end of term assessments and how to support their APP assessment.

Week beginning 11/11/13

Spent release time researching / identifying and making Maths resources order. There are still a few elements to chase / complete.

Have started to trial new proposed way of planning on Block E unit 1 in Year six.

Performance Management for all teachers this week has been completed. The main focus was maths. Ask for feedback from RG.

Have completed teaching the algebra to Year 6 Level 6 focus groups.

Selected the children for the maths challenge next week and wrote to their parents.

Subject leader meeting with SLT on Thursday looking at link Govs, action plans, resources and budget.

Week beg 4/11/13

INSET 4/11/13

 

Led an INSET with CM with a focus on practical maths. In the morning we looked at addition and subtraction and place value using different practical methods.

 

In the afternoon I fed back on book scrutiny and we discussed marking to close the gap.

 

New resources were given out to each year group to use.

 

5/11/13

 

Worked with CM on action plan. Useful discussion against SDP.

Discussed planning and CM modelled best practice using steps to success and barriers to learning.

Discussed INSET for 6/1/13.

Discussed a set of points raised by KK about subject knowledge, time allowance given to lessons and when we teach maths.

AC to work on new planning / new resources / number sense calculation policy and feedback these ideas to SLT.
